"The Noh play Ama, the Dragon Princess, oil on canvas, 1998, and its installation view in my new studio. This little oil was painted in Tokyo in my last year there [part of a series of over 80 oil paintings of Noh subjects] and has now joined a very dense and eclectic hang in my San Diego studio. The Dragon Princess has an elaborate gilt crown surmounted with a flat leather dragon hand painted on both sides in red, green and gold and I wanted the red to pick up various other reds in the studio." 29-Apr-2019
