"I recently posted another oil from this series, King Lear, made when I was Artist-In-Residence at the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1999-2000. This is a double portrait of Sir Nigel Hawthorne as Lear and Japanese superstar Hiroyuki Sanada as his Fool, in the Storm scene where Lear rails again the thunder, lightning and rain. I had occasion recently to take this and others from the series out of storage, which it has been in for many years, and to take new photos of them.
