"Dojoji, oil on canvas, framed to 62 x 48 inches, 1998. As you can see from the second pic, this very large oil was the first piece I hung in my big empty studio earlier this week as I stated to move into my new working space. It was one of the last oils I painted in Tokyo and has now been hanging in three continents. The character is a jealous female snake spirit who pursues and destroys a celibate monk she lusts for, even when he hides beneath a huge bronze temple bell." 2019-4-25
