"Many thanks to stunningly handsome newbie Nick who dropped by yesterday and posed for this drawing in the direct sunlight. Mostly my models are drawn in the diffuse north light from the big windows in my studio, but occasionally I want the effect of strong direct sunlight as here and I luckily have three skylights upstairs that pour light into the space. Funnily enough, right after drawing this, Nick went off and shaved his beard, so maybe I’ll persuade him to let me draw the cleancut look too..." Binnie, September 2023.
