Remarks
"In the early years of the new millennium I was traveling often to South East Asia; I would fly into Bangkok, then the home of my late friend, artist Ralph Kiggell, then head out to the Golden Triangle (Northern Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Yunnan) or other neighboring countries in search of fascinating subjects. This young bridegroom was about to get married when my guide and I arrived at his small Akha village and he wanted to show off his embroidered jacket and scarlet-feathered headdress. I was interested in his expression, slightly mistrustful and rather unsure. The wedding went off without a hitch, and was beautiful to see, and I adapted this into an oil painting as well."
